Compact L-Shaped Control Room Desk for a High School Studio

System Integrator: ELEKTRONIKA

In Banská Bystrica, a local high school faced a common but challenging task — creating a fully functional broadcast control room within a very limited space. The control room, designed to serve the school’s studio, was too small to accommodate large benches or standard-sized furniture. This meant the new desk had to be compact enough to fit comfortably in the room, yet spacious and robust enough to hold all essential broadcast control panels and equipment.

The initial concept — a compact, L-shaped desk — was developed by Elektronika. Building on their concept, our engineering team refined the design, adding detailed structural and ergonomic adjustments to ensure both functionality and visual appeal. The final version made optimal use of the available space while maintaining clear accessibility to all devices and controls.

One of the special requests for this project was to integrate subtle, dimmable LED lighting beneath the tabletop. This not only improved the working atmosphere but also added a touch of modern design to the room. Additionally, we incorporated striking LED elements into the steel supporting legs, giving the desk a distinctive and contemporary look that immediately draws attention.

The result is a sleek, space-efficient L-shaped desk that successfully balances practicality and aesthetics. Despite the control room’s compact dimensions, it provides ample space for all necessary broadcast equipment and supports the school’s daily production workflows — all while standing out with its elegant LED lighting and thoughtful design details.
